03.04.2010 Columbia City Council Members Vote to Spare Eau Claire Development

March 04, 2010
How can our city countinue to take a beating dealing with Public Safety (Police and Fire) having monies that would help fund the 25 vacancies with CPD and 70 vacancies with CFD...This $600,000 dollars lost would have help the elimination of furloughs and cutting services..........Al...so, in new hiring it costs approx $16,800 dollars to hire a new police or firefighter and get through training...So, this one mistake could have helped put approx. 35 "New Boots on the Ground" or a good start to give back the benefits that were taken away including medical and furlough pay that contributes to the Recruitment and Retention. This is not a personal attack on the citizens of Eau Claire, but a serious error in the judgement on city councils part.......and now to extend this risk again? When taxpayers dollars are at risk one mistake is enough.....This is true conservative fiscal responsibility!!! Together, we can...

03.03.2010 License Fee Divides Council

March 03, 2010
To Promote Small Business and New Local Jobs by giving tax incentives will draw more attention to open in the Columbia City Limits....There is way too much vacant space just sitting in all 4 City Council Districts. In this current recessed economy there needs to be a real push for new ideas to bring any National or Loc...al business to Columbia. Sometimes and short solution will yield a long term gain.........The citizens of Columbia cannot afford any new Tax Hikes nor will my campaign support it!!

03.01.10 Engine 8 Back in Service

March 01, 2010
I'm happy to report that Engine 8 today went back in service. This was out of service the better part of the 2009-10 years. It does respond as first due engine for the majority of Columbia Disrict 4. and such vital link to our fire and rescue service. I cannot personally take credit for this, but with Public Safety at ...the top of my campaign platform I will fight that to make sure this truck or any other ever go out of service..........Together, we can.........
